WhatsApp has a number of features that are under development but not available to all testers as well as a features that they may be slowing rolling out, according to WABetaInfo.

If people are unable to access a certain feature, they will need to wait for a future update.

Group chat and community creation

According to WABetaInfo, after installing the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.1.11 update, some beta testers can experiment with a new feature that streamlines tools for creating communities, groups, and chats within the Chats tab.

This feature simplifies the process and reduces confusion by putting all of the related options in one place. The change includes removing the floating action button from the Communities tab which is in line with recent design updates to make the interface cleaner.

Website icon

With the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.1.13 update, some beta testers can try a feature that displays the favicon (website icon) of shared links within the message bubble.

With this feature, it is easier for users to identify the source of a link, as the favicon is a small graphical representation of the website, typically associated with its brand or logo.

AI-powered chats

The WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.1.24 update, has led to the discovery that WhatsApp is planning to introduce a new AI (artificial intelligence) powered chats tab in the bottom navigation bar.

This features will offer WhatsApp users access to various AI tools from Meta as well as third-party creators, tailored for tasks like productivity, entertainment, and niche interests.

To allow for this change, the messaging platform will remove the Communities tab from the navigation bar.

Chat events

With the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.1.18 update, WhatsApp is developing a feature to allow users to create events within individual chats.

The events feature will be similar to those in group chats, with options to specify the:

- location

Photo poll

With the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.1.17 update, WhatsApp is developing a feature that lets users attach photos to poll options, offering a visual representation for each poll choice for clarity and better engagement.

Users can assign a specific image to each poll option so participants can evaluate choices at a glance. After a photo is added to one option, images must be attached to all other options for maintain consistency, allowing for a uniform and balanced presentation.

AI chatbots

With the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.1.26 update, users can create AI chatbots directly within WhatsApp, aiming to make the process simple and accessible for everyone.

Users can customise their AI by giving a detailed description of its personality, role, and objectives, with suggestions and templates available to help users that are new to AI design.

Chat message animations

WhatsApp is developing a feature for the iOS app which will allows users to control chat message animations, including those for GIFs, stickers, and emojis, with the WhatsApp beta for iOS 25.1.10.70 update.

Users will have the option to disable autoplay for these elements making sure that they appear in static form unless manually activated.
