Cape Town masters athlete, Percy Kelly, 58, from Strandfontein, performed well at the recent African Masters track and field championships, at Pilditch Stadium, in Pretoria, winning bronze in the 5 000m race, silver in the 10 000m event and a gold medal in the 10km road race. Ranked 127th in his age group in the 5 000m race and Number 1 on the continent in his division, Kelly finished 12th overall and third in the 50-plus division, in the Laingsburg12km Race earlier this year and has also been impressive on the WP masters’ cross country circuit, finishing in the top three in the 50-plus division, at various events this year.
