Under-19 squads bring the heat at Hangberg basketball tournament

Hout Bay’s Hurricanes and Snipers basketball clubs’ youth sides were among a number of teams from across the city who took part in the inaugural under-19 Cape Basketball Cup, at the Hangberg indoor centre, at the weekend.

Hosted by Hurricanes and endorsed by the Cape Town Basketball Association (CTBA), the sports governing body in the city, the Hout Bay sides impressed as both made it through to the semi-finals.

Hurricanes beat Delft Umojo 71-69 in their semi-final fixture to set up a cup final date against Spartans.

In the other semi-final, Spartans beat home team Snipers 56-32 and hosts Hurricanes 54-48 in the final match.
