Recently, on 12 November 11-12, De Beers JKA Karate Centre hosted Sensei Johan La Grange 6th Dan, from JKA South Africa, who presented a judging course for seniors in Cassandra, Kimberley.
On Saturday morning Sensei La Grange presented a training seminar lasting one-and-a-half hours. Thereafter the grading took place.
Both Sensei Terry-Lee Sullivan and Sensei Cayle Damons of Kimberley passed the judging course after a tough grading session demanding a very high standard.
Sensei Terry-Lee Sullivan, 25, was promoted to YONDAN, 4th Dan and Sempai Cayle Damons, 24, was promoted to SANDAN, 3rd Dan.
Mrs Kate Sullivan, Dojo Head of De Beers JKA Karate centre and JKA Administrator of the Northern Cape congratulated the pair on their massive achievement. “Very well done to them both. We are very proud of you both,” she said.

Both Terry-Lee and Cayle have been invited by JKA South Africa to attend the KwaZulu-Natal annual Gasshuku (training camp) from November 25-27, where JKA clubs from all over South Africa will participate.
