Manchester United got the new chapter in the Red Devils ongoing saga off to quite a bland start.
Ipswich Town was supposed to be a perfect platform for the boys to get Ruben Amorim’s reign as manager off to a positive start. But it was very much the opposite and had it not been for an inform Andre Onana in the Manchester United goal, Ipswich Town should have walked away with all three points.
The team struggled to adapt to the new 3-4-3 formation, with players hovering in positions they were not really suited for.
GoalMOUTH has to be fair to the new coach and make it clear that we were not expecting magic after two training sessions.
What was worrying to see was the lack of interest shown from the players, despite them struggling to adapt. Glimpses or moments which got you sitting up, but note that we had to have moments to sit up, meaning we were laying down, bored out of our minds for most of the game, falling asleep.
No consistency and no application, just a bunch of players running around trying to wear the Manchester United jersey, which is an utter disgrace to say the least.
The truth around this beautiful club is that we have lost an identity and struggled to find it, bringing in managers like trying to put a band aid on a bleeding wound. Bringing in players to distract us from all the wrong going behind closed doors.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic was an amazing signing, marquee signing for a club of this size. But it only covered up so many cracks in the system as he never lasted long and many others left too, attractive players that could have had an impact today.
Manchester United have had many moments where we thought this could be the moment, but in an instance, players take charge and start ruling the dressing room.
It took a great such as a Christiano Ronaldo to unveil some truths the Manchester United were dreading to hear. And to do it in the way it was done, added the salt to the wounds.
Piers Morgan, being a Arsenal fan himself, milked the opportunity to have one the greats slaughter the very home that made him.
The very home which unearthed one of the world’s greatest players, but truth be told, Ronaldo had a point and nobody was prepared to listen at the time.
It’s not all doom and gloom for Manchester United’s new guy, because we can still salvage the season, but he has a major task ahead of him.
The first thing he should consider is that if he wants to implement a new formation and structure, find the players that will be able to help carry out this plan.
Manchester United does not have the players. It’s like trying to squeeze a triangle into a square hole.
Give the budget and bring players in that will add value to your system, but look at what we have and get rid of the furniture.
GoalMOUTH will help you get rid of Rashford, I mean the furniture, people who are not interested in reviving this beautiful club with so much tradition and history. As a fan, I understand that and hope some of these players would.
With a string of fixtures, considered to be easy points for the old United, Manchester United can really close some ground on the other clubs.
The blue half of Manchester is in complete disarray, but because they are the reigning champions, we will have to reserve our comments until they are officially dethroned.
Looks like Liverpool have refs in their back-pockets again, getting through games like we didn’t notice you did not deserve that. Well done refs and VAR once again, the biggest failure of the Premier League era thus far.
But GoalMOUTH will rather hold back his comments, because tomorrow the Premier League will serve me a ban for opening my mouth.
But… For the English Premier League, read below…
