The Sea point beaches and promenade was battered during the storms.
The Atlantic seaboard did not suffer as much damage last week as it did during a major storm in September 2023, says Ward 54 councillor Nicola Jowell.
“The City’s various departments have been working flat out over the last seven days to deal with the consequences of the extended storms across the city, the brunt of which seems to have been in the southern part of the city, the Atlantic Seaboard did not sustain extensive damage as it did in the storm of September 2023 but was not left unaffected,” said Ms Jowell.
“With very high seas the promenade was covered in sea foam, tree branches down across the ward and some damage to the Blinkwater stream in Camps Bay caused by the rocks coming off the mountain. Many thanks to the various community organisations such as Project Hope and Ignisve, along with our three CIDs who had all their staff assisting with clean and mop up operations over the last week,” she said.
