A Hout Bay home was damaged and no injuries were reported following firefighters battling an overnight blaze.
City of Cape Town firefighting crews withdrew from the Hout Bay and Llandudno areas at about 2am today, Thursday, January 29.
The initial incident was reported at approximately 1.15pm on Wednesday, as vegetation alight at the corner of Park Avenue and Valley Road in Hout Bay (Firefighters combat blaze in Hout Bay and Camps Bay, Sentinel News, January 28).
Two helicopters were waterbombing the affected areas to suppress the flames.

Yesterday, South African National Parks' (SANParks) Table Mountain National Park (TMNP) called for the evacuation of anyone hiking along the Twelve Apostles trails or related paths.
Sea, aerial, and mountain (SEAM) operators were mobilised to assist with hiker evacuations.
Today, Thursday, January 29, Fire and Rescue Service spokesman Jermaine Carelse said crews would remain vigilant throughout the day, conducting inspections every three to four hours to monitor for any flare-ups.
“In terms of damage, only one home was reported to have been affected by the fires. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the blazes remains unknown,” he said.
