Boorhanol Islam Movement hosted The Amazing Race Heritage Edition fundraiser aimed at promoting the exploration of Cape Town's landmarks on Saturday, November 8.
Participants navigated a 5km route through the city, solving clues, completing challenges, and engaging with Cape Town's cultural, historical, and social spaces.
Project coordinator Nazeema Thebus said that, despite limited participant turnout, the event was successfully executed, from an operational and logistical standpoint.
"Demonstrating the team's capability in planning, branding, and execution," she said.
Ms Thebus thanked all participants, sponsors, partners, and hosts of the spaces where participants stopped.
She said that the movement would be using funds raised to buy a delivery vehicle, which would strengthen their capacity, enabling them to deliver food parcels, educational materials, and community support services more efficiently to families across Cape Town.
The movement is a prominent, historically significant community non-profit organisation based in the Bo-Kaap.
Participants stopped at the corner of Wales Street and Rose Street, in Bo-Kaap.
