The Brahma Kumaris non-profit's new workshop, called “The Mind-Body Connection – Unlocking Balance and Health Through Meditation,” will take place at Blue PetHotel, Bloubergstrand, on Saturday, November 22, from 10 am
The workshop will be facilitated by The Brahma Kumaris’s Dr Raksha Balbadhur, a palliative physician with an interest in holistic and integrative wellbeing.
The session will examine the relationships between mental, emotional, and physical health. IT will also explore how chronic stress, thought patterns, and emotional states can influence physiological processes and overall health outcomes.
Dr Balbadhur is based at the organisation’s head office in Claremont. She said participants will be guided through practical techniques to calm the mind and relax the body, aimed at activating the body’s natural relaxation response and promoting balance within the nervous system, sharpening mental clarity, and cultivating inner peace.
“These evidence-informed approaches highlight how mindfulness and meditative awareness can enhance resilience, emotional regulation, and physical wellbeing,” she said.
The event also allows space for those interested in the science and practice of integrative health and meditation.
Admission is free, and all are welcome. For more information on upcoming wellbeing initiatives, contact 0773741967 or email capetown@za.brahmakumaris.org
