The South African Guide-Dogs Association for the Blind will host its fundraising event, Oubaitori: A Spring Festival & Photo Exhibition, in Woodstock at the end of August.
Oubaitori is a Japanese word that reminds us not to compare ourselves to others. It comes from the idea that cherry, plum, apricot, and peach trees all bloom in their own time, each one beautiful, each one unique.
The Oubaitori: A Spring Festival & Photo Exhibition will be a family event.
Visitors can look forward to food stalls, arts and crafts, a photo exhibition, cuddle sessions with adorable puppies, lucky prizes, and there will be a welcome drink with your ticket. A DJ will also be available to play music throughout the day.
Marketing manager for the SA Guide-Dogs branch in Claremont, Toni Erasmus, said, every ticket sold will help the association get closer to its goal of raising R200 000, which will go towards the training and caring for more guide, service, and autism support dogs.
The Oubaitori: A Spring Festival & Photo Exhibition will take place at The Palms, Sir Lowry Road, Woodstock on Saturday, August 30, from 3.30pm until 7pm. Tickets cost R150 per person and can be purchased through Quicket
