Road users can expect partial lane closures on Nelson Mandela Boulevard this weekend due to essential roadworks.
Roadworks on the inbound and outbound carriageways of Nelson Mandela Boulevard between Hertzog Boulevard and the Father John Oliver footbridge in the Foreshore will be undertaken between 8am and 5pm from tomorrow, Saturday June 14 until Monday June 16.
Kerbing, replacement of bridge joints, and line marking will continue at night from Monday, June 16 until Monday, June 30 between 7.30pm and 5am.
Roadworks along Nelson Mandela Boulevard are planned for during daylight hours this weekend. Road users are advised of partial lane closures and to plan their travelling with this in mind.

The City's mayoral committee member for Urban Mobility Rob Quintas said: “This is quite a busy stretch of road, hence this work has been carried out at night to ensure minimal impact on road users during the day.”
This weekend, however, the project will be carried out during the day.
“I would like to advise road users of partial lane closures and plan their travelling with this in mind,” he said.
He said that the project forms part of the City’s regular road maintenance schedule, and it sought to ensure that Capetonians keep moving on good quality roads.
The work involves the removal of the existing road surface and resurfacing it, replacing missing or damaged kerbs, and sealing cracks as well as replacing or repairing old damaged or missing guard rails.
Motorists are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and to use alternative routes where possible to minimise delays, he said.
For motorists traveling into town, it would be advisable to use the M5 and FW de Klerk (N1) as an alternative.
Once the project is completed, new retro-reflective road markings will be applied to improve road safety and visibility.
