Debut author Andrea Shaw of Vredehoek, right, launched her novel Unsolicited at the Book Lounge in Roeland Street on Wednesday May 21. In conversation with Noordhoek-based poet, editor and feminist activist, Hellen Moffett, left, Shaw, who works in the film industry and has credits including Netflix’s Unseen, introduced readers to Detective Fatima Matthews: sharp-eyed, quick-witted, and currently being sucker-punched by menopause. Set in the heart of the local publishing world and in Cape Town, Unsolicited is a darkly witty literary thriller packed with plagiarism scandals, buried secrets and more than a few red herrings.
