The New Heaven New Earth Church of Jesus in Gardens hosted a “Healthy Lifestyle Awareness Day” in collaboration with the Western Cape Blood Service and neighbouring schools. The event focused on promoting mental and physical health.
The initiative, on Friday February 21, combined a blood donation drive with a broader health awareness campaign. A total of 136 attendees participated, with 80 successful blood donations recorded. The collected blood will contribute to strengthening local reserves.

Organisers highlighted the importance of self-care, proactive health management, and community service. They thanked attendees for their participation and encouraged continued engagement in health-focused initiatives.

Apiwe Sikadi, a teacher at Cape Town High School, said blood donation is a unique way to help others. "Anyone can donate money or accessories, but only you can donate your blood. By doing so, you are giving someone else another chance at life," she said.
