The day kicked off with participants meeting up at the area in front of Gordon’s Bay Spur after which the enthusiastic group descended on the beach, with mural artists soon giving the walls a new look. Everyone was invited by ward councillor Sean Stacey to participate and the day saw a huge turnout with young, old, men, women, children, individuals and families coming out to give the walls a make-over.Those visiting the Gordon’s Bay beachfront will now be greeted with freshly painted beautiful murals. The idea for the mural painting project, Mr Stacey told Bolander, came from the Muizenberg huts and its enormous boost to tourism and he wanted to do something similar. The mural painting was the first of other upcoming paint projects. For more information on other upcoming projects, contact him on 061 604 2165.
