The family of missing 39-year-old Lucky Nhlanhla Gumbi is appealing for assistance to locate him.
Mr Gumbi is believed to have gone missing from the Mahatma Gandhi Hospital in Phoenix.
He was dropped off at the hospital on Wednesday afternoon after suffering a head injury from a fall and had also complained of chest pains.
His family approached Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) after they visited the hospital on Wednesday evening and could not find him.
RUSA’s Prem Balram said hospital staff revealed CCTV footage showing Mr Gumbi walking out of the hospital premises at about 6pm on Wednesday. Since then, there have been no sightings of or communication from him.
“His family has described him as tall, slightly overweight, with a dark complexion and a distinctive white beard. Notably, he has a single silver-plated tooth. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a grey T-shirt, dark green jacket, blue jeans, and grey size 6 flip-flops with white socks,” said Mr Balram.
