WHILE rumour has it that controversial gossip blogger, Musa Khawula, has died, Somizi Mhlongo jumped at the opportunity to poke fun at the celebrity basher.
The multi-talented Mhlongo took to Instagram to post a screenshot, which paid tribute to the YouTuber, along with a TikTok video of him on the following slide.
In the caption Mhlongo wrote: “When he hears that he’s died. Ps: I’m not believing until he himself announces that he has died or if I go to the funeral lol.”
Khawula, who calls himself “the pope of pop culture”, is known for his popular self-titled YouTube channel, which has over 83k subscribers and over 200 videos.
Over the years, he has attacked almost every Mzansi celebrity including Mhlongo, media darlings Bonang Mathebe and Minnie Dlamini, actress Pearl Thusi, the late rapper AKA and even made damning allegations against former minister, Fikile Mbalula’s wife, Nozuko Mbalula, and her business partner, Michelle Perrow.
Nozuko and Perrow obtained an interdict against Khawula and he was ordered by the court to pay damages.
According to a variety of online reports, Khawula is not dead but rather in prison, where he is serving a 60-day sentence for failing to appear in a Gauteng court.
He was arrested last month in the Western Cape after appearing in Vredenburg Magistrate’s Court, where he is accused of the murder of his former boyfriend, Wandile Khambule.
The matter was remanded to September 2 for finalisation of judicare.
Khawula admitted to stabbing and killing Khambule on his YouTube channel during an interview with the cast of “My Body Works for Me”, but he said he had been defending himself.
Meanwhile, netizens, who didn’t actually believe the rumours, took to Mhlongo’s timeline to join in on the fun.
Many revealed that they miss Khawula’s presence on social media and would like him to “come back”.
