The Miss SA finale was a glittery affair at the Sun Bet Arena in Pretoria last night.
Hosted by GLAMOUR cover star Bonang Matheba, the event was a star-studded affair, including judges Thuso Mbedu, reigning Miss Universe R’Bonney Nola, Jo-Ann Strauss, Devi Sankaree-Govender and Leandie Du Randt.
The crowd was also treated to some of the country’s top musical talents including Jimmy Nevis, Brenda Mtambo and Robot Boii.
Throughout the evening, anticipation was building as finalists were announced after each challenge.
Pretoria native, Natasha Joubert was a fan favourite in her hometown. By the time she was announced as the winner, beating out runner up Bryoni Govender, her name was already trending on Twitter.
At 26 years old, Natasha is no stranger to the Miss SA stage.
Here are 5 things to know about the newly-crowned Miss SA:
This is the second time Natasha has competed for the Miss SA crown. In 2020, she landed in the Top 3, falling behind beauty queens Shuduhadzo Musida and Thato Mosehle.
After her Miss SA loss, Natasha was selected to represent Miss Universe in 2021. She also won the Miss Globe South Africa 2016 and strutted her stuff in Albania for the Miss Globe 2016 pageant where she placed in the top 5.
The BCom Marketing graduate is the founder of her own fashion brand Natalia Jefferys, which specialises in couture gowns for special occasions.
In an interview with Sunday Times, Natasha revealed that one iof her “very creative” friends wrote a book based on real people. In the book, Natasha is dubbed as Natalia Jefferys.
The beauty queen loved the moniker so much that she adopted it as the name of her fashion label.
According to the Miss SA website, Natasha “thrives in a natural environment”. She says she enjoys hiking, camping, and action hockey, which many people are surprised to find out about her.
