Shampoo your hair less often
Contrary to popular belief, you don’t need to wash your hair with shampoo daily, meaning your bottles should be lasting you a lot longer. The problem with daily shampooing is that you end up stripping away too much of the sebum oil that naturally accrues on your scalp. This sebum oil is important for protecting the skin and keeping dryness at bay. Instead, simply rinse your mop with warm water and save your shampoo for every third shower.
Treat your feet like your face
When it comes to looking after your feet, it doesn’t have to be complicated and you don’t need bespoke products. Instead, simply repurpose the same exfoliating face scrub and moisturiser you apply to your face. Pay particular attention to dry and rough areas and repeat as often as necessary.
Post-shave balm can soothe the skin
Living in a warmer region means direct heat and lots of it and sometimes sunburn treatments can be expensive. Post-shave balm and other cooling products are often packed with anti-inflammatories such as aloe vera, witch hazel and chamomile. These natural ingredients will help to settle the skin until you’re ready to apply that sun-tan lotion.
Vaseline is a scent-saver
Vaseline isn’t just for dry and damaged skin, it’s also essential for extending the life of your chosen cologne. Applying a small amount of Vaseline to your pulse points (wrists, neck and behind the ears) before spritzing your favourite scent can help to maintain its potency for longer.
Safety razor = happy beard
For years we’ve been told that multi-blade razors promise the closest shave imaginable. The reality is that by scraping your skin with too many blades, you increase the likeliness of skin irritation and ingrown hairs. Don’t listen to the adverts – you only need one sharp blade to neaten that mess.
