Minnie Dlamini is back in the headlines, but this time it’s not about her love life.
The media personality and businesswoman has landed a spot on Forbes Africa’s digital cover, featuring in the 30 Under 50 list - an extension of the well-known 30 Under 30, which highlights individuals who continue to break barriers beyond their 30s.
The Forbes 30 Under 30 list has become a global benchmark for recognising young achievers who are making an impact in their industries.
While the original list focuses on those under 30, the Under 50 edition acknowledges established figures still pushing boundaries and redefining success.
This expansion is particularly significant as it highlights individuals who have not only made a name for themselves but have sustained their influence and adapted to changing industries.
Dlamini, who first won over Mzansi as a TV presenter on “Live Amp”, has since built an impressive career as an actress, producer, and entrepreneur.
She has hosted major entertainment events, produced her own films, and expanded into the beauty and business world. Yass, queen!
Her journey has been anything but traditional, which is something she addressed in her Forbes feature. “I didn’t do things conventionally. I didn’t do things the same way everyone did,” she explained.
She also encouraged women in entertainment to think beyond being in front of the camera. “There’s so much more in this industry.”
But while Dlamini is celebrating this impressive career milestone, not everyone is happy for her (as per usual).
X users had plenty to say about the cover, with some questioning her inclusion on the list.
Some also questioned the credibility of the Forbes lists, with one comment reading, “These awards lost my respect when I realised people submit for themselves and pay for it.” Others took personal digs, with one user even labelling her a “home wrecker”.
