Award-winning rapper Mthembeni “Emtee” Ndevu was involved in a car accident at the Precinct Luxury apartment parking lot on Monday night, leaving many fans concerned about his well-being and raising questions about his potential substance abuse.
It is alleged that Emtee collided with a parked car at the Midrand apartments. The news quickly spread across social media, with images of the wrecked vehicles circulating and sparking widespread speculation.
The circumstances surrounding the crash are unknown to IOL. The rapper Emtee has not commented publicly since the crash on Monday night.
Many fans have been left wondering whether the rapper was under the influence, especially considering his past public discussions about drug use. It is not known whether he was under the influence of any substance.
Emtee has been open about his struggles with substance abuse, particularly his use of marijuana. In response to an online article about him, he candidly admitted to using drugs, stating: "Bombshell yokunuka (wake up). Who doesn’t know I smoke, I use to sip lean. Manje!?"
Lean is a concoction of cough syrup and a fizzy drink, which is said to give young people a high.
However, months later, Emtee took to X to share that he’s been sober from alcohol for 10 years.
In the wake of his recent accident, fans have taken to social media to express their concern about his behaviour.
