The popular South African comedian, David Kau says that he is willing to do whatever it takes to secure a meeting with Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture, Gayton McKenzie.
Kau went on a X (fomerly known as Twitter) rant about how he thinks that South African comedians do not get enough or no support at all from the government.
He further stated that he is willing to do just about anything including going to spin cars just to have a meeting with Minister McKenzie.
He said, “Do we have to be in the Olympics or die before we stand up comedians can meet you Gayton McKenzie?”

Kau further shared that even the previous Arts and Culture Minister Zizi Kodwa once met with everyone in the art and culture sector, but did not meet anyone in the comedy sector.
“Even corporate sponsorship for comedy does not develop any talent, some of the sponsors pick and choose what they like based on their brand and not based on talent development,” he said.
