Cape Town is set to make its debut on the World Supercross calendar as it hosts the 2025 FIM World Supercross Championship finale at DHL Stadium on Saturday, December 13.
This marks the first time the global championship will take place in Cape Town - the final stop in a season that begins in Kuala Lumpur and spans five continents. During the South African Grand Prix, the world’s best supercross riders go head-to-head for championship glory.
Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis welcomed the announcement. "Bringing World Supercross to Cape Town is a massive moment for the sport in our country. South Africa has a proud motocross and supercross fan base, and we’re excited to host the season finale at the iconic DHL Stadium.
"We look forward to showcasing the energy, beauty, and world-class hospitality Cape Town is known for.”
Fans attending the South African Grand Prix can enjoy racing, along with a full day of family-friendly activities, food, music, and various ticketing options, from general admission to VIP hospitality.
Luisa Fernandez, chief product officer of World Supercross, said: “Cape Town is the perfect setting for our 2025 championship finale. The passion of South African fans, combined with the stunning backdrop of DHL Stadium, will make this a must-see event. We’re working closely with local partners, including Showtime Management, to deliver an unforgettable experience both on and off the track.”
