Artscape will honour former president Nelson Mandela during July with the production Mandela – A More Human Face by poet Bulelwa Basse and the Township Opera Company on Saturday July 23, at 7.30pm.

Madiba’s life story for peace and reconciliation is told through the sterling voices of the Township Opera Company and the spoken word of Bulelwa with Sandile Kamle as the music director.

Guests can expect to hear songs including Ntyilo-ntyilo, Isiswe Sabathembu and Nkosi Sikelel' iAfrika.

Mandela – A More Human Face is a collaboration of Bulelwa Basse Services and Lyrical Base Project in association with Artscape.

Tickets cost R120. Book through Computicket or Artscape Dial-a-seat at 021 421 7695. There is a 10% discount on tickets for pensioners, students and pupils. Madiba shirts, Xhosa traditional attire and accessories will be on sale to raise funds for the performing artists.
