The 31st OUTsurance Gun Run takes place this weekend
More than 18,000 athletes are expected across the trail run, 10km, 5km fun runs, and the half marathon on Saturday, September 13, and Sunday, September 14.
In a statement sent by the City of Cape Town, they advised residents and motorists of road closures and traffic impacts.
On Saturday, September 13, the shorter distance races start from Fritz Sonnenberg Road outside DHL Stadium, following the Atlantic coastline through Mouille Point and Sea Point before finishing at Green Point Common Fields.
The 17km trail run begins at Van Riebeeck Park, traverses Table Mountain’s slopes and Signal Hill, and also ends at Green Point Common Fields.
On Sunday, 14 September, the 21,1km half marathon will take runners through Green Point, De Waterkant, Sea Point, Camps Bay, and Clifton.
Mayco member for Safety and Security JP Smith said the City has worked closely with organisers to ensure a safe and well-managed event, balancing resident access with runner safety.
