Thrive Initiative, a social innovative organisation looking at the regeneration of society, is calling on Capetonian youth to change their life stories by grabbing empowerment opportunities.
They will host a bootcamp for 20 people to grow personally and help their community. The organisation focuses on rebuilding human connection and resilience through self-awareness, stress relief, and communication skills.
Interested youth, between the ages of 18 and 35, from Cape Town, can send their details to the organisation for consideration.
The date and venue for the bootcamp will be shared once the candidates have been chosen.
Thrive Initiative transformation facilitator and founder Brian Segal, of Sea Point, said successful candidates, to be called 'Thrive Initiators', would be trained during a three-month programme to tackle the root causes of the issues, such as gender-based violence, addiction, gangsterism, isolation, and broken communication.
“Thrive is inviting 20 driven, street-smart, heart-led individuals to take part in this free 3-month journey that could flip their world upside down. Real tools. Real talk. Real change,” he said.
From this crew, ten successful candidates will be selected for a six-to-12-month internship, where they will be equipped to become Thrive Facilitators, skilled facilitators, community leaders, and entrepreneurs with the power to shift the story of Cape Town’s youth.
Mr Segal said: “The Thrive Initiative’s pilot is more than a project; it’s a regeneration strategy for a fractured generation.”
Thrive facilitators will form a team and work with local schools, community centres, and adults to build stronger community relationships; provide one-on-one support; and enroll residents into Thrive’s self-awareness programmes.
“The Thrive Initiative believes that we change the world through connection, not disconnection. In a society stuck in survival mode, we’ve lost our ability to connect, to feel, to relate," he said, adding that the Thrive approach restores this connection, empowering people with the inner tools to thrive rather than merely survive.
The socio-empowerment group intends to cultivate entrepreneurs with vision and originality, who can create true wealth and transformation in their communities.
Participants who complete the course will have their enrolment fee returned and a bonus, while those who do not complete the course will forfeit the fee, reinforcing accountability and commitment.
Graduates will be positioned as leaders and changemakers in their community, trained to teach, counsel, and enroll others into a cycle of thriving.
Interested youth should send their details by Friday, June 20, to email info@thrive-initiative.com or WhatsApp 067 966 1771.
