Boorhaanol nursery and pre-primary school, in Bo-Kaap, had their annual inter-house sports fun day, at the Bo-Kaap civic centre, on Sunday June 1. The participating teams were the Radiant Reds versus the Beaming Blues.

Nuha Dramat, principal, said the event has great benefits for the child as the physical exercise helps children develop important skills such as physical, listening, following instructions and memory.

The children not only play but they learn social skills by “taking turns, being part of a team, participating whether you win or lose. Proud parents and grandparents cheered on the little ones as they performed their activities. Parents’ support and showing up for their child with love, care, and no expectations builds self-esteem and confidence,” said Ms Dramat.
