A large area of vegetation was destroyed in a fire on Signal Hill on Saturday, May 3. According to the City's fire and rescue spokesperson, Jermaine Carelse, crews from Roeland Street and Sea Point responded to a report of a vegetation fire around 6.50pm near Head Road, Fresnaye. The blaze was extinguished by 8.40pm. Police had not responded to enquiries about a suspected arrest by the time of publication.
