Get into the groove

Staff Reporter|Published 8 months ago

The Let’s Groove Tonight concert takes place on Friday August 30 at Joseph Stone Auditorium in Athlone, 8pm. Veteran producer Jayson King, who has graced the stage since 1960, will be joined by Mujahid George, pictured, Shadley Schroeder, Belinda Qaqamba Fassie, Gakeem Roman, Casche Arayna Smith, Sumaya Hendricks and Kashiefa Blaauw. “This is going to be a real ‘groovy’ concert with the cast delivering various genres of music but dominated by boogie, R&B, soul, rock, Motown, Philly, and romantic ballads. The Philly sound is one of my favourite genres originally sung by artists like Gloria Gaynor, Stylistics, Blue Magic, The Whispers, Al Green, The Chi Lites and the list just goes on,” says King. Tickets cost R160 through Webtickets or at Pick and Pay stores. Call Naju on 074 622 8669 for fundraising tickets or email mainevents@worldonline.co.za for more information.
